The night was so cold...
And you were too.
The ambulance never came.
What was I to do?

I dragged you in the car
We had gone everywhere in.
When I got where I was going,
I knew the crying would begin.

How is it you were right there,
But the next second, not?
The nurse said everything was okay,
But the doctor said you were shot.

The people dressed in black,
And your peaceful, closed eyes.
To be lost forever now,
Under dark graveyard skies.

I didn't think you'd do it.
I just can't see...
Why'd you pull the trigger,
When you could've had me?

I never know what to file my poems under. Whatever.

Anyways, I wrote this about 2 years ago, and forgot about it. Very stange. I had a twisted little mind.
XD

Anyways, it's called Impact. Not because of what obviously happened, but what always happens that we don't always realize. Accidents like this can be avoided by the impact we have on other people; you may have saved someone like that, and you'd never know. But when things like this do happen, it impacts friends and family more than one can imagine. How would you feel if you in the same position as this person, and your friend, family member, girlfriend, boyfriend, husband, wife, or whatever was the other one?
Just a thought.

I know that it doesn't always happen like that, but whatever.

Dang, that was actually pretty impacting by itself!
I actually completely understand what you're saying. I bet it actually happens a lot too. You truly can effect people. Either it be a good or bad thing.

Great job. Another wonderful poem
